Generally, pollution is categorized into two types: point source pollution and non-point source pollution.

What's the difference?  Point source pollution is pollution you can see and can point to its source.  For example, a sewage pipe is point source pollution.

Nonpoint source pollution is more difficult to track down where it came from.  This is the pollution that washes off of our lawns, roadways, and fields when it rains.
