RICHMOND HILL, Ga, – July 11, 2017 – Ogeechee Riverkeeper partnered with local Aveda concept salons, Lavender Hill and Salon Tribe, to celebrate Earth month with Aveda during the month of April. Over $600 was raised from this celebratory fundraising initiative to benefit the nonprofit organization Ogeechee Riverkeeper.
Ogeechee Riverkeeper was chosen as one of only 75 organizations in the United States to benefit from Aveda’s annual partnerships for 2017 Earth Month. Aveda salons and spas are founded on the common mission of caring for you and caring for our world around us and every April Aveda undertakes a clean water fundraising and awareness initiative during Earth Month. Aveda has been protecting water through partnerships with supporters raising over $44 million for environmental causes since 1999.
Lavender Hill and Salon Tribe were able to raise these funds through various initiatives including raffles, designating a percentage of service proceeds, and more.
“We were thrilled to see the impact of Earth month and what it brought to Ogeechee Riverkeeper. The community came together with a like-minded mission and we are looking forward to our partnership with these local Aveda salons for years to come,” said Ogeechee Riverkeeper Membership and Communications Coordinator Jenn West.
The mission of Ogeechee Riverkeeper is to protect, preserve and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River Basin. The organization is able to work toward this mission with funds raised through various initiatives, memberships, and community support.
