Fire Festival
Ogeechee Riverkeeper will be part of Fire Festival in Guyton, Georgia.
Enjoy a fun day outdoors celebrating how prescribed fire is good for Georgia’s forests and meet some of the organizations using it to support healthy wildlife habitat and reduce the risk of wildfires. It’s a free festival for the whole family with fire equipment, food trucks, face painting, and games!
In case of inclement weather, the rain date for this event is October 23.

Explore nature exhibits, fire equipment, and the many benefits of prescribed fire with our wonderful partners, including (but not limited to!) UGA Mary Kahrs Warnell Forest Education Center, Burner Bob®, Wildlife Resources Division – Georgia DNR, The Georgia Conservancy, NRCS, Effingham County Fire Rescue, Effingham County UGA Cooperative Extension, The Orianne Society, Georgia Project Learning Tree, Georgia-Alabama Land Trust, Georgia Wildlife Federation, Quail Forever in Georgia, and Georgia Forestry Commission.
