Rivers Alive
Join us for a Rivers Alive community cleanup, in partnership with Savannah Riverkeeper, the City of Savannah, Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL), Keep Savannah Beautiful, and Friends of Urban Nature.
Volunteers will meet at Lake Mayer Park to check in. Participants will check-in near the entrance of Lake Mayer Park, on the right side of the parking lot. Volunteers will receive cleanup supplies and be assigned a cleanup location before traveling to one of the project sites. Each site will have a dedicated event coordinator to assist volunteers.
Some locations will target hotspots near trash traps that were installed through a collaboration between Savannah Riverkeeper and Ogeechee Riverkeeper, made possible by NOAA Grant funding. These trash traps are part of a community effort to reduce litter before it reaches the marsh, rivers, and the ocean.
Groups and individuals of all ages are welcome. Pre-registration is required.
