Rivers Alive Community Cleanup

A community cleanup, as a part of River’s Alive, in partnership with Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful (KSBB). The cleanup will be performed in Bulloch County on public roads directly leading to Ogeechee River landings. Volunteers will meet at the softball fields next to the Honey Bowen Building to pick up supplies & follow leaders to the cleanup sites.  

Cost: Free! Litter collection equipment provided. Pre-registration is required.

River’s Alive

Join the Ogeechee Riverkeeper and Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce for a River’s Alive Community Cleanup in Millen, Georgia, on Saturday, December 3, 9am-12pm. 

Supply pickup and drop off will be located at the train depot in downtown Millen. Volunteers will be assigned cleanup locations either at a river landing or roadway nearby. More information will be given to participants closer to the date. A limited supply of t-shirts, drinks, and snacks will be provided. 

Pre-registration is required.

Rivers Alive: Liberty County

In partnership with Keep Liberty Beautiful (KLB) and Hinesville Downtown Development Authority (HDDA), Ogeechee Riverkeeper (ORK) will co-host a Rivers Alive litter cleanup. 

Volunteers will meet in a central location in Hinesville for supplies and instructions before being assigned specific spots for cleanup. 

This event is limited to 30 participants. Volunteers should register in advance.

All CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19 will be followed for this event.

Rivers Alive is Georgia’s annual volunteer waterway cleanup event that targets all waterways in the state, including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches, and wetlands. The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia’s water resources. Rivers Alive is held annually each fall and is a program of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Outreach Program.
